The horses and buggies bring to mind the chariot races in biblical epics of old like “Ben-Hur,” while the manic shouts and fist-pumping of the bettors resemble the floor of a stock exchange – if the stocks were named things like “Rodeo Rock,” “” or the always crowd-pleasing “Hoof Hearted.” For the longest time, their motto was “every 19 minutes, the place goes crazy,” referencing the frenzied spectacle when the bell rings to start each of their nightly harness races. No self-serve soda/coffee station and good luck getting a server to come around.Northfield Park has been a horseracing and Cleveland institution since it opened in 1957. The machines were so tight it was ridiculous.

My Mister ended up with a burger! I decided to just fill up on desserts and even those had seen better days. Nooooo!!! They were Instant Red Skin crap! Even My Mister noticed they were Instant! The hot foods were lukewarm at best. Where once I wrote a whole review on the Amazing Mashed Potatoes that the Hard Rock had(look it up!) I was hoping for a repeat. And that's the Only Good Things I have to say. My Bloody Mary was good and Mister's Margarita was good.

Taps bar had just opened so we took a seat. We decided to take a break from losing and get a drink. Music would come on briefly and then stop. Shoot, I was hard pressed to find any where the Minimum bet was less than 80 cents! I might as well play the Dollar slots! Come on now. Where are the new games? Almost All of the games were old ones. Talk about Disappointing! We were there on Friday morning to mid afternoon. We are MGM loyalists, been to Detroit and Vegas several times and we thought we'd try this one. My Mister and I had such a Wonderful time when this place was the Hard Rock.
